How Do You Fire Someone in a Christian Way? This John Crist Skit Has the Answer
How do you fire someone in a Christian way? This hysterical John Crist skit has the answer. Watch the short but hilarious clip to see how John and his fellow church employee try to figure out the best, most loving way to let someone go in this sidesplitting skit.
Unfortunately, not everything in life will be fun, full of laughs, and an occasion to celebrate. In fact, there will be several instances that you’d rather forget entirely – ones that cause pain, hurt and heartache. One of those agonizing, gut-wrenching experiences is losing a job. No matter the circumstances, that will always sting, and not just for the person being let go.
Much like being fired, having to inform someone that they are being let go isn’t fun or enjoyable in the slightest. That will always be a difficult conversation to have, and it will be incredibly awkward, and that goes for any and every workplace, regardless of the field. Now, how would that look and feel if someone were being fired from a church? How would that be handled? How do you fire someone in the most loving, gentle and Christian way possible?
In a clip posted on YouTube, John, as the pastor of a church, has to fire someone, specifically the IT guy. However, before he goes through with the firing and calls the employee in to let him know of the unfortunate news, he calls in a fellow church employee to help him wordsmith it.
They hilariously go back and forth, sharing and stating the phrases and words John should use when he breaks the news. Both want to do it as kindly as possible. What happens, as they go back and forth, is absolutely hysterical.
This skit had to have taken several hundred takes to film because it would have been impossible to go without laughing. The back-and-forth, their lightning-fast and witty responses, will have you laughing long after this clip ends.
Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
