PS22 Chorus Hits It Out of the Park With ‘Centerfield’ Cover

The infamous PS22 chorus hits it out of the park with their new “Centerfield” cover. Sporting gifted hats from the songwriter himself, John Fogerty, the kids bring tons of confidence to their cover. Play the video to see the children’s choir sing their hearts out!

The PS22 choir is made up of 85 public school 4th and 5th-graders in Staten Island, New York. It’s so good to see children enjoying themselves like this. They all seem to love singing and being in the spotlight. 

Some of the lyrics the kids sing are:

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes
You know I think it's time to give this game a ride
Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all
A moment in the sun

PS22 Chorus Gave Such a Cute Performance 

The PS22 Chorus’s "Centerfield" performance is so cute, especially when they all throw up their hats at the end of the song. They are a talented bunch, and their collaboration is all thanks to their choir director, Gregg Breinberg. It is obvious that his enthusiasm and passion for music transfer right through to his students. 

The director was recently honored by Charles Fall, a New York State Assembly member, who presented Gregg with a plaque for his 25 years of teaching. 

Charles said, “[I’m] proud to celebrate Gregg and the incredible legacy he has built through the PS22 Chorus. What began in a Staten Island elementary school became one of the most celebrated children’s choruses in the world, but Gregg’s greatest accomplishment has always been the impact he’s had on his students.”

Along with Fogerty, the chorus has also received celebrity attention from Kylie Minogue, Amy Grant, Madilyn Bailey, and other artists.
