Busker’s 'Stand By Me' Cover Will Give You Chills

This beautiful busker’s “Stand By Me” cover will give you chills. It is simply a lovely rendition of the Ben E. King classic. Play the video to hear her wonderful voice.

The British busker, who goes by Amber, stands strong and deep in her "Stand By Me" cover. As the strong wind blows her hair this way and that, she doesn’t let it get in the way of her singing. As she performs, many people sit around to hear her.

The song she’s chosen is over 6 decades old. While many interpret the song’s meaning as love or friendship, it is more spiritual.

Ben said the song was inspired by a song called “Stand by Me Father,” written by Sam Cooke and JW Alexander, and “Stand by Me” is also the name of a hymn written in 1905 by Charles Albert Tindley. Part of Ben’s “Stand by Me” has lyrics taken from Psalm 46:2:

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry

The song was very successful and was the 4th song in the US charts when it was released and was 27th in the UK.

Amber’s "Stand By Me" cover is just as soulful and deep. She hardly sings for 2 and a half minutes, but you just want to keep listening, and it’s over all too soon.

Her performance also highlights busking charm. She doesn’t stand on a stage or in a spotlight but rather on paved stones. She has no instruments but her voice and a microphone. The simplicity allows her voice to shine, and shine it does.
