Baptism Takes Unexpected Turn When the Pastor Takes a Tumble
A baptism took an unexpected turn when the pastor took a tumble. The person being baptized wasn’t the only one who went into and under the water. Watch the short but hilarious clip to see the pastor fall into the water during the special ceremony.
Baptism is an important sacrament in the church. The decision to get baptized should not be taken lightly. It deserves much thought and prayer. That’s because baptism is a pivotal and important step in someone’s faith journey. Baptism signifies and means so much that Jesus Christ thought it worthy and important enough to be baptized.
Baptism is an outward expression of what has already taken place in someone’s heart. It’s a sign, a display to others that this person being baptized has made a decision for Christ. They have chosen to give up their old life and their past ways and follow the King, the Savior of the world. They are giving up the world and its ways and are now fully and entirely committed to Christ. Whatever happens, they will trust and have faith in Him.
Every baptism is an important event and a reason for celebration. However, while the Savior may be perfect, people are not, so at times baptisms can go sideways, as a posted clip.
In the video, a young man stands in the baptismal pool, as do two others, including the person on the right, who is the church’s pastor. The two people hold onto the man, prepared to lower him slowly and gently dunk him into the water.
Finally, the time has arrived, and the man is lowered into the water. However, he was not the only one who made a splash during the baptism. The pastor slipped and fell into the water. Surprisingly, no one bursts out laughing. Inexplicably, no one even cracks a smile at what just happened.
But just keep watching, as the video captures what happens after the baptism. The young man who had just been baptized climbed a flight of stairs, entered a room, closed the door and then finally started laughing uncontrollably. How he was able to contain that laughter until that point, I’ll never understand.
