Netflix Drops Trailer for New ‘Little House on the Prairie’ Series

Netflix has dropped the trailer for the new “Little House on the Prairie” series. Like the original television show, this series promises to be one that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Watch the short but powerful clip to get a look at the upcoming series from Netflix.

Making movies and television shows is an expensive endeavor. In no time at all, the cost of those productions can easily reach into the millions. Have you ever looked at the budget for some of those superhero films? So, operating with a close eye on the budget is a must. Shows and movies that go over their budget will always be in danger of cuts, or even worse, cancellation.

Hollywood also likes to make a decent return on its massive investment. They don’t make movies and television shows for charity. No, it’s a business, and so that’s why you’ll frequently see sequels pop up at the theaters. If it worked once, it’ll work again and again, as the thinking often goes.

Another thing Hollywood has been into as of late is remakes or reboots; even television shows and movies from 30 to 40 years ago are being remade, hoping that audiences will reconnect and fall in love with those stories and characters again.

Well, this time, it’s the beloved series “Little House on the Prairie” that has gotten the reboot treatment. Everyone, even if they weren’t fans, is familiar with the original show from the ‘70s and early ‘80s, starring Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert.

The trailer for the show, posted on YouTube, shows the Ingalls family as they set out for the prairie, where, as the clip states, “a new life is waiting for them.”

Of course, much like the original series and the books on which the shows are based, this series will capture the family as they live, laugh, cry and struggle to make a life in this new place. However, despite what may happen to them, regardless of what they may encounter, they will be happy because “they were a family.”

The new series begins streaming on Netflix July 9.
