This Dad Explains How Your Actions as a Parent Matter

This dad explained how your actions as a parent matter. Something unexpected happened, prompting him to pause and reflect on his words and actions as a father. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to hear his insightful and powerful message to parents.

Parenting is in no way an easy task. In fact, it’s likely that there is no more difficult and challenging thing a human being can do than to be a parent. Stop and think for a second about all the obligations and responsibilities that come with raising a child. It’s kind of startling when you begin to consider everything that a parent is entrusted with doing for their little one.  But there is nothing better or more rewarding than raising a child.

While all of that is undoubtedly true, there are still times when parents question their abilities and fitness as parents. Every mom and dad has been there and done that, and those who say they haven't aren’t telling the truth. Is this the right thing to do? Are my kids learning what they need to? Do they have what they need? Am I doing enough? Those are only a handful of the many questions parents will ask themselves.

However, regardless of how much parents may question themselves and their job of raising a child, even when it appears they’re coming up short, that’s not the case. Kids know and can tell who is there for them, who they can count on, and who loves them. Those youngsters are very perceptive and are always watching and listening. In a clip posted on YouTube, one father reminds parents of this fact.

“Most difficult days in your life, you’re not going to remember,” he said. Then it’s moments like that you will. It is an important reminder that the love that you give them on your most ordinary days and your most difficult days is still reaching them, even when it feels like you’re falling short. Maybe even especially when it feels like you’re falling short.”

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old, he will not be turned away from it.”
