Hilarious Look at Modern Car Ride Entertainment Hits Home

This hilarious look at modern car ride entertainment hits home. Kids today “need” all kinds of devices and contraptions to keep them entertained during long car rides. Watch the short but laugh-out-loud funny and incredibly relatable clip to see how entertainment options during a car ride have changed considerably over the years.

Most people’s attention span is similar to that of a gnat. They see one thing that grabs their attention, but that previously bright, shiny object fails to hold it for longer than a few minutes. After they’ve grown bored and tired of that, they are onto the new thing. This pattern repeats itself over and over, and in many different areas of our lives.

While we can all agree that, for the most part, people have a tiny, minute attention span, it’s much worse with children. Kids become obsessed and infatuated with this thing, and minutes later, they couldn’t care less about it. All parents are well aware of their youngster’s nonexistent attention span. So, what do most do? Give them screens to keep them busy and occupied, at least momentarily.

A child’s lack of anything resembling an attention span can become a problem, particularly during car rides. A clip posted on YouTube hilariously captures how a child’s attention span and what they “need” to keep them entertained has drastically changed over the years.

The short video opens with a shot of the insane number of screens and devices available to children today. But if that wasn’t enough, hilariously, the man standing in for a child today comments that there’s “nothing to do,” adding he’s “bored.”

The clip goes back to a child in the 90s and shows how a child kept themselves entertained during a car ride. A youngster keeps a close eye on raindrops on the window, watching them fall. What else were you supposed to do when all those devices and screens weren’t available?

Needless to say, the two scenarios differ just a tad.

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old, he will not be turned away from it.”
