Powerful Words on How to Respond to and Act Toward Children

These are powerful words on how to respond to, act toward and think about children. Her message about how the attitudes toward and treatment of youngsters will give you something to think about and consider. Watch the short, insightful and thought-provoking clip to hear what the woman has to say about how we should treat and think about children.

If everyone wants a life that is neat, orderly, free of problems and mess. Wouldn’t that be the life? While that may be the dream life, that’s all it will ever be, a dream. That’s not reality in the slightest. In fact, reality is often messy and disorderly, but we were never promised a life free of worries, issues and concerns.

Parents of small children understand how difficult, disorderly and messy life can be. But that mess, that time with your children, is a blessing, and something that you will miss and yearn for sooner rather than later. Sadly, though, many people do not or choose not to understand this, and so many places and gatherings have instituted child-free policies.

This anti-child attitude has even infected many in the church, a place where children should be welcomed with open arms. People want things to be quiet, orderly, free of messes and loud noises, and that is not what children are. In a clip posted on YouTube, one woman perfectly and powerfully explained how people, particularly Christians, should view and treat children.

“You just can’t say there are groups of people you don’t like,” she said. “You don’t have to be a Sunday school teacher. You don’t have to, like, find the special joy I feel with children. You don’t have to be good at talking to children, but you don’t get to be a Christian and be like, ‘I’m just someone who doesn’t like kids.’”

She adds that how we treat and act toward little ones is a signal as to how we would respond to the Lord.

“How you respond to a wiggly, crying child is how you will respond to God, honestly,” she said. “Like, that’s the message of hospitality in the Bible, right? Like, how you respond to the vulnerable is the signal of how you respond to God.”

Matthew 18:6 “But who is a cause of trouble to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him to have a great stone fixed to his neck, and to come to his end in the deep sea.”
