Comedian Explains Why Marriage Defies the Laws of Physics
A comedian explained how and why marriage defies the law of physics. The funnyman, Don McMillan, demonstrates that a marriage relationship does not follow scientific principles. Watch the short, but hysterical clip to hear and see Don illustrate how science doesn’t apply to marriage.
Marriage is not easy, and anyone who says so is either lying, completely delusional, naïve or not married. It requires time, work, patience and perseverance. How could it be otherwise? It’s an extremely close relationship between two people with different thoughts, opinions and feelings. Occasional disagreements are bound to happen.
However, another reason for the difficulty of marriage may be that it does not follow basic scientific principles. Everyone is well aware of Newton’s Laws of Motion – an object at rest will remain at rest; an object’s acceleration is dependent on its mass and the force applied to it; and for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction. Those are all basic universal concepts that apply to everything, except marriage, according to Don.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Don hilariously explains how and why this is the case, and by the end of his lesson, you’ll not only be laughing deliriously but also in complete agreement with him.
To help explain how for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, Don mentioned how, in warfare, when cannons were used, many were severely injured because they did not yet understand Newton’s third law of motion.
“If my wife says to me, ‘Have you gained a few pounds? Have you gained a few pounds?’ My reaction will be ‘probably,’” he said.
But then he wanted to see what would likely happen if the scenario were reversed.
“If I say to my wife, ‘Have you gained a few pounds?’ She will shoot me with a cannonball,” he said. “That is not an equal and opposite reaction.”
Genesis 2:24 “For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they will be one flesh.”
