19-Year-Old Austin Montgomery Sounds Just Like Elvis During Blind Audition
This is such a fun audition. 19-year-old Austin Montgomery sounds just like Elvis during his blind audition.
As Austin begins singing, he receives an immediate chair turn. One just asks if he sounds like Elvis a little, and the other just shakes his head yes. He has such a naturally cool voice. The crowd is going wild as the judges contemplate whether they should turn or not.
The two judges decide that he sounds like Elvis and it’s really cool, so both of them turn their chairs at the same time. As he points, the judges argue over who he keeps pointing at during his performance. Austin is so calm and confident as he sings to the crowd. One judge stands and dances to the song. It is definitely a crowd-pleaser.
Austin shares that he is only 19-year-old and the judges are in shock. He is from California. He shares his style and those who have influenced him that are oldies but goodies.
All of the judges rave about him and have fun with him. A judge compliments him that he sounds like Elvis. Austin replies, “Thank you” at one point, and a judge responds, “Thank you very much, you should have said.”
One judge tells him it is an honor to have him on the show and they can do it right. The next says that he would be a great sound on the radio today, and she is looking for diverse musical talent for her team. The next coach says that she would love to work with him and his style. He finally selects his coach, and the audience cheers.
This is a moment of showing us the timeless talent that the Lord provides. He is so creative and continues to give us unique voices in every generation. It causes me to think about His faithful promises for every generation.
“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.” Genesis 17:7

We all have those dark, lifeless places where we think nothing good can happen. As we grieve these areas of life, may we, like Hannah, turn to the Lord in prayer.
