Ransomed Bluegrass Band Performs Classic Hymn 'I'll Fly Away'

The men of Ransomed Bluegrass praise the Lord with a special performance of ‘I’ll Fly Away.’

This beloved song was written in 1929 by Albert E. Brumley. It was published in 1932 and became a hymn frequently performed in church services all over the world.

In fact, the song has even been called one of the most recorded gospel songs of all time with notable covers from Alison Krauss and Alan Jackson.

Albert was picking cotton on his family farm when the words to the classic hymn came into his mind. From that moment, it took Albert three more years to complete the iconic song.

“Some bright morning when this life is over, I'll fly away
To that home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh glory. I'll fly away in the morning
When I die, Hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away”

Today, Ransomed Bluegrass is putting their own spin on this gospel classic. These talented men started out small, as just a group of people who enjoyed bluegrass music. Now, they’ve turned that love into even more as they write and record their own songs, all while honoring the Lord.

On their website, they described their mission. “We want the songs we sing to share God's love and ultimately the salvation that comes through Jesus.”

There’s no doubt that they are sharing God’s love with this amazing performance of ‘I’ll Fly Away.’

“Just a few more weary days and then
I'll fly away
To a land where joy shall never end
I'll fly away”

People all over the world love listening to these young men praise the Lord. One viewer said, “This made my day! For young men to be doing this made my heart sing! Thank you!”

Another wrote, “There's a reason this has almost two million views - people are hungry for something simple and straightforward, honest and well done.  Good job boys.”

Psalms 31:24 “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD.”
