Nervous 19-Year-Old Impresses Simon With ‘Something In The Orange’ Audition

A young woman who had never performed in front of an audience before wowed the judges and the studio audience with her dazzling audition on America’s Got Talent.

Pursuing goals and taking steps to make a dream a reality can be frightening. The ever-present fear of failure holds most people back from doing so. Also, most don’t believe in themselves enough, thinking they don’t measure up for some reason. But in order to reach a dream, one must first put themselves out there.

Summer Rios, a 19-year-old woman from Ohio, wants to do more in life. Currently, she is a manager at Pizza Hut, but has big plans, as she admitted on America’s Got Talent.

“So, I’m working a lot of morning to closes, trying to, like, still pay my bills and stuff,” Summer said. “And I’m hoping that this will get me out of pizza cutting and pizza making.”

It’s clear that the young woman is more than a little nervous. But it’s only seconds into her audition when she wins over the audience with her surprisingly beautiful voice.

The audience reacts with a thunderous round of applause, shouts and screams. Summer is thoroughly surprised by their response. The camera catches her genuine reaction as her eyes widen.

By the end of her stunning performance, Summer has the entire studio audience and a few judges on their feet applauding her.

Heidi Klum gave Summer what was perhaps the biggest compliment. She claimed that the Pizza Hut employee sounded like Rhianna.

Simon Cowell gave the young woman a massive compliment as well.

“Summer, what a great, great choice of song,” Simon said. “I think every single person in this room wanted you to do well. Yeah, we all like you.”

Summer’s jaw-dropping audition earned her four emphatic yes votes, sending her into the next round. She cannot believe the judges’ response and runs off the stage in excitement.

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
