Willie Nelson And Daughter Sing ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’ Duet

Willie Nelson And Daughter Sing ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’ Duet

One country music legend teamed up with his daughter and produced a country version of a Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) classic.

Willie Nelson is a name instantly recognizable, synonymous with country music. Willie has used his distinctive voice to churn out hit after hit for decades. This time though, Willie worked with his daughter, Paula Nelson.

Dad and daughter combined their musical abilities and produced a duet to CCR’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?

The “On the Road Again” singer kicks the song off, singing the first three lines of the first verse. Daughter Paula then picks things up and sings the second three lines of the first verse.

Then Willie and Paul sing the CCR classic’s iconic chorus together.

“I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?
Comin’ down on a sunny day”

In addition to being more of a country-type version, the Nelsons also slowed the song way down from the original. Instead of the more upbeat tempo and the guitar-heavy sound of the John Fogerty-sang hit, Willie and Paula’s song is a much more stripped-down version.

Willie and Paula’s version make the classic song their own. It very much sounds like a Willie Nelson song, with an added emphasis on the vocals and the song's lyrics.

While Willie and Paula’s song is enjoyable, it will not be for everyone. Those who love the original CCR song may not be in love with this cover.

However, several people who commented on the YouTube video expressed their sheer joy and love for Willie and Paula’s reimagining of the 1970s song.

“Takes chops to cover a Creedence tune and actually kill it! Willie totally kills it. This is amazing. The credibility and wisdom in his beautiful voice brings a whole new vibe to this classic,” one person wrote.

“I could listen to this song over and over….I love it,” a second person added.

Ephesians 6:4 “And, you fathers, do not make your children angry: but give them training in the teaching and fear of the Lord.”
