Voice Contestant Has Judges on Edge of Seat with “Shallow’ Audition

Our actions - good and bad - can and do have an impact on those around us. As such, what we say can have a profound influence on the lives of others, even if we never ever realize it. One contestant on The Voice UK decided to audition for the show after words of encouragement and support from complete strangers.

A nervous Niamh Nolan, a 25-year-old woman from Ireland, stepped up on the stage during the blind auditions portion of the program. Despite her nerves, Niamh gave a show-stopping performance of Shallow, the popular song from the film “A Star is Born.”

Niamh’s beautiful and powerful rendition of the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper song caused two judges – Tom Jones and Will. i. am – to turn their chairs and take notice. They were both thoroughly impressed with Niamh’s stunning vocal capabilities.

“Well, I thought it sounded great. You can sing. It’s as simple as that, you know what I mean? When you hear somebody sing like you just did, I have to press my button because that’s how good I think you are,” Tom said.

“You sounded angelic. I turned around because my seat not turning to you would be disrespectful to the level of talent that you have,” Will. i. am said

Following her performance and during her interaction with the judges, Niamh revealed that it was total strangers who were responsible for her being on the stage. The positive feedback she received from videos she uploaded of her singing gave her the confidence that she had been lacking.

“I started uploading videos on social media, maybe like a year and a half ago, singing and people kind of liked what they heard. And I grew a bit of a following and stuff so,” she said.

Words are very, very powerful. They can build someone up and on the other hand, they can tear people down.

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.”
