The Collingsworth Family Performs 'I Sing The Mighty Power Of God'

Check out this video of The Collingsworth Family perform the hymn 'I Sing The Mighty Power Of God.'

This video was filmed in 2021 in Lynchburg, VA at Liberty University's Center for Music and Worship Arts. And the pianist and trumpeter in the video are Phil and Kim Collingsworth. They are such talented musicians who love the Lord and use their gifts to bring Him glory.

The Collingsworth Family is a Southern Gospel group that was started by Phil and Kim Collingsworth and features their family as the group. “Since their first engagement together as musicians for a church camp in Petersburg, Michigan in August, 1986 until now, the ministry God has given Phil & Kim has expanded and flourished until it is a full-time livelihood that involves their entire family,” reads the family’s YouTube page.

Kim and Phil partner together in this video and play an incredible rendition of the song 'I Sing The Mighty Power Of God.' The author of the song was Isaac Watts, and the song was first published in 1715 in a hymnal called Divine and Moral Songs for Children.

'I Sing The Mighty Power Of God' is based on scriptures talking about creation, like passages such as Jeremiah 10:12-13, for example: “He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to the instrumental version of this hymn by Phil and Kim Collingsworth and the music was able to uplift your spirit and bring you some encouragement today!
