Classic 'Dueling' Pianos Skit From The Carol Burnett Show
In this comical and talented video, we see a face off live. Check out this classic “Dueling” pianos skit from The Carol Burnett Show.
At the beginning of the video, a man looking like Beethoven while playing the piano does a splendid intro. He stands and bows as he shares in a French accent comically about how he is going to play a musical duet with his prodigy. The other man walks out and bows. The man comically shares that he has selected the “Intermezzo for Two Pianos.”
Each one hysterically tries to invite the other to start. They crack their fingers and stretch dramatically before they begin to play. The audience laughs. After popping each finger, the prodigy pops his nose.
They both meet towards the middle, and the prodigy switches sides with him. He unexpectedly goes to the other piano. He spins the seat and does all of these strange and humorous warmups before playing the piece. He looks surprised at the music.
The teacher begins to play, the prodigy cannot read the music. After playing the intro three times, the prodigy gets up and walks toward him. He just watches the teacher the entire time.
Suddenly, he begins playing what the prodigy has on his sheet back and forth, causing the teacher to play two different songs. It is comical. The two have very different pieces of music printed. This is not going well. The two clearly have frustrations with each other as they begin to bump and destroy one another’s pianos and hit one another. They are playing their instruments from the floor, smashing each other's fingers, and smashing through pianos.
In this hilarious skit, we are reminded that we are called to work together, not against each other. We can easily create competition where God has called us to be unified.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35

Today's Devotional
A Prayer to Humbly Serve This Maundy Thursday - Your Daily Prayer - March 28
Would you let Jesus wash your feet? Isn't it hard to imagine lifting our dirty toes to the King of Kings? None of us are worthy of his care and attention; yet in Christ's perfect love, he gives us nothing less. Does your human heart struggle like mine to serve others humbly as Jesus did?
