You Say’ Blind Audition Earns Rare 4-Chair Turn

One contestant’s stunning performance of “You Say” on The Voice impressed the studio audience and the judges, causing all four judges to turn their chairs.

The average person who auditions for The Voice seems to have been blessed with an extraordinary amount of musical ability. Commonly, at least one judge will hear something during a contestant’s performance that will cause them to flip their chair around for them. Sometimes even two judges will do so, but it’s very rare that all four ever do it.

David Aumua’s blind audition on The Voice Australia was one of those infrequent occasions, impressing all four judges enough to cause them to turn their chairs.

In a clip posted on YouTube, David takes the stage and begins beautifully belting out the lyrics to Lauren Daigle’s smash hit, “You Say.” It’s literally seconds into his blind audition, and David has already won over the studio audience.

Several people let out loud, sharp screams after hearing David’s beautiful voice. He then goes on a series of stunning vocal runs, which seems to be what causes the first two judges to turn their chairs around.

“You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours”

Then, near the conclusion of his audition, David has won over the two remaining judges – Jason Derulo and Rita Ora. Jason and Rita hit their buttons at what is almost the exact same time.

David’s audition is outstanding! Not only does he sound great, but he genuinely appears to be having a wonderful time on stage singing. He has a massive smile on his face throughout his audition.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
