‘Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good’ Willie Nelson’s Son Performs Beloved Hymn

The son of legendary country musician Willie Nelson turned in a delightful performance while singing a tune about asking the Lord for assistance getting through the day.

Parents have a monumental impact on their children. While children are not always the quietest group in the world, they silently observe their parents. Children are constantly listening to their parents’ words and watching their mom and dad’s actions. The example set through those actions and words has consequences that will affect their children’s lives.

One area in which children often follow in their parent’s footsteps is in their profession. Whether it be a doctor, lawyer, business owner or an actor, children are more prone to do what they’re familiar with and know. One clip posted on YouTube is a perfect example of a child following in their parent’s footsteps.

Lukas Nelson, whose father is Willie Nelson, plays the guitar and sings Don Williams’ classic, “Lord, I Hope This Day is Good” at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Lord, I hope this day is good
I’m feelin’ empty and misunderstood
I should be thankful, Lord, I know I should
But Lord, I hope this day is good”

Not only is Lukas a musician like his famous father, but he also has a similar look and sound as Willie. In fact, Lukas sounds eerily similar to his dad. If people were to close their eyes and listen to Lukas sing, they would almost believe it was Willie performing. He sounds that much like his father!

At the conclusion of his performance, the audience responds with a thunderous round of applause and several cheers.

A few others who commented on the YouTube video expressed their utter delight at Lukas’ performance.

“This man deserves all of God’s blessings! What a beautiful soul. What an amazing talent,” one person wrote.

“That voice & that song made my day. Back-up singers sure sound like angels. Thank you for this gift,” a second individual added

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
