Sister Names New Baby After Brother With Autism And He Has The Best Reaction

A young woman selected the perfect name for her child, naming her baby after her brother, who has autism, and his reaction to the special honor is hilarious.

As any parent knows, coming up with names for their children can be quite a task. It can be such a difficult step to complete that there are many books dedicated to assisting expectant parents in locating the perfect name. Selecting a name can even lead to heated arguments and disagreements between the expectant parents. 

But as one video shows, a woman selected what she thought was the perfect name for her newborn child. She decided to name her son after her brother, who has autism. It’s a sweet way to honor the young man who obviously has meant a great deal to her. 

However, she was probably more than a little surprised by his hilarious reaction once he discovered the special honor. 

In the short, 42-second video posted on Facebook, the young man and an older gentleman both enter the room where the baby is peacefully sleeping. The child’s mother asks her brother, “What’s his name?”

The young man responds by asking, “Why?” His sister then tells him that he must read it to find out the child’s moniker. 

The child’s mother reads the baby’s name to him, “Cole Dylan.” 

“He’s named after you,” she tells her brother.

“Why?” is his response, which elicits several laughs from people in the room. 

“Because we thought you’d like it,” his sister states.

“Nah,” he says as he walks off camera.

That probably wasn’t the response she or anyone else was expecting! But nevertheless, what a beautiful way to honor and recognize her brother, who she obviously loves and who will likely play a huge role in the child’s life. 

Despite his hilarious and less-than-enthusiastic response to the child’s name, we’re sure he’ll love being an uncle to the child named after him.
