Buskers' Stunning 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' Duet

These buskers turned in a stunning “Take Me Home, Country Roads” duet performance. Their cover of the beloved John Denver classic is one rendition that you’ll find yourself listening to again and again. Watch the short but delightful clip to hear the two talented street musicians perform “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

Whenever you think of singer-songwriters, there are likely a few that immediately come to mind. I’d venture a guess that for most people, the first name is Bob Dylan, and rightfully so. The prolific songwriter and musician has written dozens of classic tunes that are still played, recorded and covered by other musicians to this very day.

People like Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Paul Simon and Johnny Cash also most certainly qualify as singer-songwriters and are arguably some of the best to have ever done it. Their talent is undeniable, with all of them having left a considerable mark on the music world. You could put on any of their songs and immediately become captivated by the artistry and simplicity of their beautifully written lyrics.

Another name that certainly qualifies as a singer-songwriter is the late John Denver. The country/folk musician penned several classics that we all know and love. However, none of his tunes are more memorable and iconic than “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” In a clip posted on YouTube, a pair of buskers beautifully perform this timeless tune, near and dear to the hearts of many.

“Country roads, take me home

To the place I belong

West Virginia, mountain mama

Take me home, country roads”

That has to be one of the simplest yet most iconic and catchy choruses of all time. I’m fairly certain that it’s physically impossible to hear those lyrics and not sing along. Even people who aren’t John Denver fans or country/folk music fans will find themselves singing along whenever the song hits the chorus.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
