Church CFO Breaks Down Salvation Costs in Hysterical John Crist Skit

A church’s chief financial officer broke down salvation costs in a hysterical skit. The CFO actually looked into the numbers and quantified how much the church spent saving people from eternal damnation. Watch the short but hilarious clip to see and hear how this number-cruncher came up with this insane statistic.

How much is someone’s eternal, everlasting soul worth? Yes, that’s a really odd and unexpected question. Someone’s soul is priceless, right? There is nothing more precious and important than the state of our soul. There is really no way to put a price on such a thing. However, we could and should be willing to spend any amount of money and do anything to keep someone from being in hell for eternity.

Businesses and organizations are always looking to cut costs and keep expenses low while maintaining high profitability. While it might seem impossible to place a price on someone’s eternal salvation, it turns out that some churches have figured out a way to do it, or at least one is doing it anyway. A clip posted on YouTube shows that one church, specifically its CFO, has placed a price on salvation.

In the hilarious skit from John Crist, the person from no business or organization, their number cruncher, ominously enters the room. He then starts laying down some hard financial truths, including the high cost the church incurs per salvation. It’s something that no one ever wants to hear.

“You can’t put a price on salvation,” John and his fellow church employee say in unison.

“Actually, you can,” the CFO responds. “Our outreach and advertising program combined with our Sunday morning cost, the underwater film crew for the baptistry, our model show new salvation cost $22,457.31.”

But that’s not all; the CFO continues to lay into the two church employees, noting that, compared to other churches in the area, this cost is extraordinarily high.

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
