Choir's Show-Stopping 'Lovely Day' Performance on AGT

The CommUNITY ATL Choir's show-stopping “Lovely Day” performance on AGT won the hearts of everyone in the audience—including the judges. They’ve got star talent. Watch the video to be amazed!

The choir’s performance of "Lovely Day" on America's Got Talent is absolutely stunning. When the five lead singers start out on the stage, it's obvious that they already sound incredible. Then more trickle onto the stage, and even more pop out of the audience. 

“I honestly think this is one of the best choirs we’ve had in years,” judge Simon Cowell said when they finished. “You were prepped. The choreography was amazing. The vocal arrangements were amazing. You have sensed the mood and done exactly the right thing, which is give us something that makes us feel great.”

After the performance finished, the choir got four eager yeses from the judges. 

The "Lovely Day" America's Got Talent performance was inspired by Bill Withers’ original 1977 hit. Bill was known for his 18-second vocal stretch towards the end of the song, which is the longest held note on any U.S. singles chart. The choir doesn’t attempt it here, and no one can blame them—it's quite a feat to tackle.

The song is all about love and the positivity that it can make you feel. Even the most gloomy days can feel bright when you have someone you love by your side. 

This choir group exemplifies unity, community, and teamwork. They are full of energy, joy, and positivity. Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” was a perfect song choice for them to sing for their America’s Got Talent audition.
