This Is How Much Southerners Love Football

This is how much Southerners love football. It’s safe to say that those who live in the South are fairly big fans of the game of football. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear just how much their love of football goes, and how it impacts their everyday lives.

Americans love themselves some competition. Cheering and generally acting in an insane manner while watching one’s favorite team is practically as American as apple pie. If there’s an activity that can be made into a competition involving a ball of some kind and two opposing teams, you can almost guarantee that it will find an audience sooner rather than later.

The love of competition is, without a doubt, something that infects the entire country. However, while this is unbelievably true, there are some parts of the country where this or that reigns supreme. In the Midwest, basketball is the preferred game. They do not call it Hoosier hysteria for nothing. As they say, in 49 states it’s just basketball, but this is Indiana.

But move further down, and you’ll soon run into football territory. People in the South love football as much as Hoosiers and everyone else in the Midwest enjoys basketball, maybe even more. In a clip posted on YouTube, a woman hilariously points out just how much Southerners love football. If even a quarter of what she says is true, Southerners more than love the game; they are clearly obsessed with the pigskin and the gridiron.

“My son’s first word was ‘touchdown,’” she said. That’s a true story.”

“We don’t name babies after family members no more,” she added. “We name them after quarterbacks. My daughter’s middle name is Brees.”

“We plan weddings around football schedules, not the other way around,” she stated.

These are only a few of the many comments she makes that demonstrate just how much football is loved in the South.

Psalm 101:3 “I will not put any evil thing before my eyes; I am against all turning to one side; I will not have it near me.”
