Busker’s Stunning Performance of ‘Toy Story’ Classic Is Pure Magic

This UK busker’s stunning performance of a “Toy Story” classic is pure magic, no doubt about it. Atticus Blue proves yet again he can sing any song he puts his mind to. The song is recognizable to movie watchers everywhere. Watch the video to hear the busker sing it.

Atticus Blue’s version sounds a little more twangy, and he certainly puts his own spin on it. It’s a great heartwarming cover of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” which was featured in the first “Toy Story” movie in 1995.

Atticus’s "Toy Story" cover draws a huge crowd, and it is no wonder why. Everyone loves that song.

Some of the lyrics to the feel-good song about friendship are:

When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me

The Academy Award-nominated song ranked #1 in BBC’s 2022 poll of listeners' favorite song from an animated movie. It’s not just the lyrics that hit home, but also the laid-back, trusting style of singing and the enjoyable, warm melody.

Atticus absolutely nails the warm tone in his “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” "Toy Story" cover. He sings with warmth and joy, conveying a relatable memory as he sings on a UK street. He also proves he’s a talented guitar player.

“You’ve Got a Friend in Me” is one of those songs that is very nostalgic for adults and today’s children. It pulls on the instinct to feel needed and to have strong friendships. It was a great song choice by Atticus, and the crowd he drew certainly proves that!
