When Mike Goodwin Learned He Could Make People Laugh

Mike Goodwin still remembers when he learned that he could make people laugh. The comedian recalled the exact moment that he discovered he had a gift for making others laugh and smile. Watch the short but heartwarming and funny clip to hear how and when Mike discovered he had been blessed with a gift for comedy.

Life is entirely too serious. Far too many people are constantly carrying stress, worries and burdens. They are worried about this situation or that situation, if they’ll be able to pay this or afford that. That is no way to live, but unfortunately, that is the reality for many.

Shouldering all those burdens and being constantly under immense stress and worry will only damage not only your physical but also your mental health. That’s why whenever there’s an opportunity to laugh, smile or inject a little humor into the day, take full advantage of it. Who doesn’t love to laugh? We could all use more of it, that’s for sure.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Mike shared with his audience the precise moment he realized he was funny and could make others smile. Mike’s discovery was made during a somewhat tense situation while growing up. His parents, he shared, were arguing and bickering. He stated that this had become a common occurrence.

So, while trying to figure out why they were always upset with one another, something occurred to him, and he said it immediately. While he does not remember exactly what he said, it made his mother laugh. He used humor to lighten the tension and make his mother feel a little better.

From that point forward, Mike was always coming up with different sayings to make his mother laugh.

“And something clicked in my mind, ‘Oh man, I have the ability to make my mother feel better by the funny things that I say,’” he said. “And that’s all I needed to hear, because I knew they were going to argue again, and I would have my time to shine.”

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
