Abigayle Oakley and Julia Golden’s "Rhiannon" is so unexpected and beautiful. Each of the young ladies sings with such style and passion. You can not take your eyes off them when they perform. 

All of the judges were excited by their performance, even though they could only pick one favorite from the two. 

Judge Kelly Clarkson said, “There were moments that both of you—the reason why you’re here—you both have something really magical with your tone. You both have something really magical about your voices that are very different.” 

Stevie Nicks Wrote “Rhiannon” Back in 1974

Stevie Nicks wrote the song in 1974. It’s about an imagined magical being. She wrote it just minutes after reading the book, “Triad: a Novel of the Supernatural.”

Stevie said, “My story was definitely written about a celestial being, I didn’t know who Rhiannon was, exactly, but I knew she was not of this world”

Abigayle Oakley and Julia Golden’s "Rhiannon" doesn’t sound so much like Fleetwood Mac’s, which had a much more rock kind of sound. But each of these Voice contestants makes the song their own. They each bring their own beauty to it. Abigayle brings a deeper, more solemn tone while Julia keeps it a little lighter. 

As you listen, you’ll be captivated from the first note of “Rhiannon” to the last. It’s slightly haunting, but also lovely. It is just as intimate as it is powerful. The slightly competitive energy on stage also makes it more interesting to watch. It’s not often you hear two distinct styles coming together to compete and it certainly leaves a lingering impression. These two women are bound for successful music careers.
