Comedian Erica Rhodes hilariously proved that TV is dead. It’s becoming clearer every day that, by and large, people do not watch television anymore. Watch this short but hysterical clip to see how this comedian inadvertently showed that people are not watching television.

For the last several years, it’s been said repeatedly that more and more people are cutting the cord and that television is on its last legs. Nowhere has this been more apparent than in local television news stations. Who wants to watch a television broadcast at a specific time when you can go online and get the very same news hours before the newscast airs?

Instead of watching television, everyone has turned to streaming. Those popular streaming platforms, of course, allow people to watch what they want when they want. The user is in control of the schedule, and who doesn’t want that? They don’t have to wait for a specific time or wade through annoying, poorly made commercials.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Erica, during her stand-up routine, asked one simple, straightforward question and inadvertently showed that no one was watching television.

“I was recently on America’s Got Talent, that’s true,” she said. “Yeah! Thank you! Did anyone see it?”

When she asked the audience if anyone saw her appearance on America’s Got Talent, things got real quiet real fast. You literally could have heard a pin drop. No one made a sound. Erica, in response to the audience’s unexpected reaction, told a series of hysterical jokes about how people are no longer watching television.

“If you didn’t think TV was dead before, now we know, OK?” she said. “Even my friends were like, ‘How do we watch it?’ I was like, ‘It’s on TV.’ They’re like, ‘Where? Where’s TV? It’s on the thing. How do we sign up? Do you have to download something?’”
