Her Southern Swear Words Will Have You Laughing and Adding Phrases to Your Vocabulary
Her Southern swear words will have you laughing and adding new phrases to your vocabulary. She shows how to express anger and discontent without resorting to those overused and offensive four-letter words. Watch the short but hilarious clip that will have you rolling with laughter as you hear new, unfamiliar phrases.
Words, as it’s been said many times before, are powerful. What we say can and does impact people, whether we want to believe it or not. As frightening as it may sound, once those words exit our mouths, they can never be taken back. That’s why it’s always a good idea to stop and consider what you’re about to say, especially when it's going to be said in anger.
You’ve probably said something in anger that, when cooler heads prevailed, you greatly regretted uttering. Sure, it’s possible and advisable to apologize to the individual to whom those hurtful and harmful words were directed, but you cannot take them back. So, instead of exclaiming any foul or offensive words, the next time you’re upset, there are a handful of other phrases you might consider first.
In a clip posted on YouTube, one woman goes through a handful of phrases commonly used in the South to express anger. While some of these phrases I’ve heard a time or two before, all of them are hilarious.
“Daggummit,” she said.
“Well, shoot fire,” she added.
“Well, I’ll be doggone,” she exclaimed.
Toward the end of the clip, she mentions my personal favorite.
“What in the blue blazes?”
Apparently, Southern people, even in their anger, can’t help but be folksy and charming with the words and phrases they say.
Everyone gets upset and angry, but the words that can come out of our mouths in that emotional state can make the situation much worse. They can hurt feelings and even damage
relationships. It’s always a good idea to keep a tight leash on the tongue. It may be small, but it has the power to cause a lot of havoc and heartache.
James 1:26 “If a man seems to have religion and has no control over his tongue, but lets himself be tricked by what is false, this man’s religion is of no value.”
