Jon Crist Gives Hilarious Lesson on How to Pray Before Eating

Jon Crist gave a hilarious lesson on how to pray before eating. The popular funnyman attempted to show someone the “accepted” and “proper” way to pray prior to enjoying a meal. Watch the short but hysterical clip to see how quickly Jon’s lesson goes off the rails in the most hilarious way possible.

Reading and studying the Bible is an important and necessary thing for all Christians. It’s an activity that should be a regular task, a habit that those who profess to follow Christ should be engaged in daily. How else do you learn more, become more educated and knowledgeable about a subject than by reading and studying?

However, in addition to reading the Bible, the one and only thing more important than reading and getting into His word is prayer. Prayer, like reading the Bible, is an activity that those who call themselves Christians should do regularly. Now, prayer can take place anywhere and for any occasion, but without a doubt, one of the most popular times to pray is right before consuming a meal. It’s an opportunity to praise and thank Him for providing the food that is about to be eaten.

However, when it comes to praying before a meal, Christians do seem to have a protocol; certain words and phrases are said. In a clip posted on YouTube, Jon attempts to give a friend a quick lesson on how to pray before a meal and what she should and shouldn't say during her prayer. While he tries to be helpful, the lesson doesn’t go very well, but at least there are a ton of laughs.

While she has never prayed out loud before a meal, she doesn’t want to mess it up and asks Jon for a few pointers.

“You’ve never done it?” he asked. “Just talk to God like you’re talking to your best friend.”

This probably wasn’t the best advice, and she starts doing exactly as Jon instructed.

As the lesson continues, Jon becomes increasingly critical and frustrated, ultimately stating, “This is going to go poorly.”

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or in act, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving praise to God the Father through him.”
