Acoustic Performance Of 'Me On Your Mind' From Matthew West

Listen to this beautiful acoustic performance of 'Me On Your Mind' from Matthew West.

“I’ve read the words in red, how you leave the ninety-nine to find the one missing
Feels like that was written with me on your mind, and the prodigal son who ran
Leaving his home behind, the part where the father came running to meet him
Did you say that with me on your mind? Who am I that the king of the world
Would give one single thought about my broken heart, who am I that the God of all grace
Wipes the tears from my face and says come as you are, You paid the price
You took the cross, You gave your life, and you did it all with me on your mind”

This music video shows the raw and stripped-down acoustic version of Matthew West’s new song 'Me On Your Mind.' In the video, Matthew is singing and playing his guitar by himself in a church pew. And the lyrics that he is singing out to God are very powerful.

The song reminds us that God cares for each one of us so much. We matter to Him and He cherishes us. In a recent interview, Matthew West shared his thoughts behind the song 'Me On Your Mind.

“Have you ever read a scripture and felt like God was speaking directly to you? I have, and that was the inspiration of 'Me on Your Mind.' I read the story of the thief on the cross finding forgiveness in his last breaths and the story of the prodigal son being welcomed back home into the arms of a waiting father, and my heart flooded with this feeling that those stories apply to me,” Matthew said.

“There are powerful words written in Psalm 8 that sum up the heartbeat of 'Me on Your Mind.' When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which You have set in place, what is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them? It's the amazement that the Creator of the universe, the King of the world, would give one single thought about me that touches my heart on a deep, deep level,” he shared. “God used the process of writing this song to bring me to a deeper understanding of the heart of my Heavenly Father, and I'm praying it will do the same for all who hear it."

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this acoustic song today and be reminded of how much God loves you!
