Classic Performance Of 'I'll Fly Away' From Joey And Rory

Check out this classic performance of the song ‘I’ll Fly Away’ from Joey and Rory.

“Some bright morning when this life is over, I'll fly away
To that home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away, I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away, when the shadows of this life have gone
I'll fly away, like a bird from prison bars have flown, I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away, when I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away”

What a wonderful performance of this classic hymn! The singers in the music video are Joey + Rory, who were a country and bluegrass duo composed of singer-songwriters Rory Lee Feek and Joey Feek. They were husband and wife. Both members of the duo were vocalists and songwriters, with Rory also playing acoustic guitar.

Back in 2016, Joey died at the age of 40 after a battle with cancer. This music video was recorded live in Columbia, TN back in 2015.

It is so great that this talented couple recorded so many of their songs together for posterity.

“Such a precious lady with a great testimony and love. God bless her husband and give him continued strength,” one person wrote on YouTube after watching the music video.

“This is such a beautiful song and I sure miss her beautiful talent,” another person commented online. “They sounded so good together.”

The song ‘I'll Fly Away’ is a hymn written in 1929 by Albert E. Brumley and published in 1932 by the Hartford Music company in a collection titled Wonderful Message. The song has remained popular ever since, and ‘I'll Fly Away’ has been called the most recorded gospel song.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to ‘I’ll Fly Away’ from Joey and Rory today!
