'Reckless Love' Gaither Vocal Band Performance

Check out this video of the Gaither Vocal Band performing the popular worship song ‘Reckless Love’ by Cory Asbury.

“Before I spoke a word, You were singing over me, You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me, You have been so, so kind to me
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God"

What a great song and this performance by the Gaither Vocal Band is just wonderful! There is such passion and energy in their voices, and the lyrics that they are singing are so powerful.

“One of my favorite songs! Course when GVB does it up it kicks it up a few notches as well because of their heart and excellence in presentation, harmony, sound, and relevant anointing! They can never get it wrong!” comments one person on YouTube after watching the music video.

"Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it, and I don't deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah”

“I love this. One of the best covers of this song I’ve heard. Stunning job guys. Wow!” writes another person online.

In an interview about the song, Cory Asbury shared a little bit about his writing process when it came to making it.

“I feel like this song is a culmination of the latter half of my life. So much goes into it and a lot of it has to do with my family, my own upbringing with my own dad. I think ‘Reckless Love’ is a song about the Father’s love, and I think so many of us, especially in this generation are so unfamiliar with the Father’s love because we had so many skewed ideas of what He’s like because of what our own dads were like,” he said.

“I know so many people, myself included, who grew up with a dad who wasn’t perfect, to put it lightly. And because my dad wasn’t perfect, I viewed God through the lens of my own dad. And I felt many times that God was angry or upset or disappointed in me. I felt I was always letting Him down.”

Thankfully, God’s love for us is unconditional and His mercy and forgiveness is never-ending. Praise the Lord for the way He cares for us and relentlessly pursues our hearts.
