‘The Sound of Silence’ AGT Golden Buzzer Audition

Everyone has dreams, goals and aspirations. Sometimes people are successful in reaching those targets and sometimes it doesn’t work out. However, other times simply attempting to reach those goals will help to inspire other people. One schoolteacher from England did that and more on America’s Got Talent!

Tom Ball, a 24-year-old, recently made an appearance on America’s Got Talent. While it may have been his first time on AGT, it was not his first time singing in front of Simon Cowell.

As Tom explains in the video, he had recently appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and made it all the way to the finals. He admits in the short clip that he’d always wanted to be a singer but was really trying out for BGT in order to inspire his students.

For his performance on AGT, Tom went with the classic and beloved Simon and Garfunkel hit “The Sound of Silence.” And what happened next was absolutely astounding!

Tom hit high note after high note, showing off his impressive vocal range. He really did make the song his own!

Tom was simply incredible! The studio audience and the judges all agreed as they were on their feet cheering and applauding Tom. But the judges went one step further, giving Tom one of the highly coveted Golden Buzzers!

Simon referred to Tom’s rendition of “The Sound of Silence” as the “best performance I’ve seen all series.”

Howie Mandel agreed with Simon’s statement. He called Tom “really amazing.”

Backstage after his performance, Tom shared the good news with his soon-to-be-wife. They both shed a couple of tears.

Tom, with his performance, likely did more than just inspire his students but also people all around the world!

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
