Nervous Teen Gets Emotional Before AGT Audition

Fear and nerves can keep us from experiencing new and wonderful things in life.  Deuteronomy 31:6 encourages us to cast aside fear, telling us to “be strong and of a good courage.” One contestant on America’s Got Talent fought through his obvious fear and nervousness to give an awesome performance!

Darius Mabda, a 14-year-old from Romania, is a dancer who took home the top prize on Romania’s Got Talent. Even though he had won in his home country, Darius was full of nerves during his appearance on America’s Got Talent.

After greeting the judges, the teen began to get emotional on stage.

“I’m so nervous because it is my first time in America and it is my dream to be here,” Darius said through tears.

While fighting through his fear and anxiety, Darius danced and contorted his body through Shawn Mendes’ song “In My Blood.” The teen whirled, flipped and turned all around the stage.

Even during his performance, the fear was, at times, still evident on his face, but he was able to fight through it! His impressive and athletic moves wowed both the audience and the judges.

By the end of his dance, Darius had the studio audience on their feet applauding!

What an amazing performance!

Heidi Klum told Darius how much she loved what he did.

“I mean, you really are incredible,” she said. “I mean, you’re borderline a contortionist also, you know, while you’re dancing.”

Heidi continued to heap more praise on the teenager.

“I mean, you really are incredible,” she said. “It was absolutely amazing, breathtaking to watch.”

Heidi wasn’t the only one of the judges that loved what Darius did! Howie and Simon also complimented the nervous young teenager on his terrific dance performance.

Sometimes it’s good to challenge and push ourselves to get past our fear because we never know what we’re capable of until we go out and try!

Psalms 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
