Crowd Supports Cheerleader Performing By Herself After Teammates Quit

Success in life requires a fair amount of commitment, dedication and perseverance. One high school student in the Midwest showed that she possesses all three of those personality traits.

One video on social media has been getting a lot of attention. The video, posted on YouTube, shows a young woman performing at the Nebraska State High School Cheer and Dance Championships. She has no teammates, performing and representing her school all by herself.

The lone young woman, Katrina Kohel, is heard yelling, can be seen holding up signs and jumping around during her routine. During her routine something truly beautiful happened!

The crowd came through for Katrina. Throughout her routine, the crowd cheers, claps wildly and responds loudly to Katrina whenever she asks them to shout out her school’s letters. What an amazing sight of kindness and love.

The young woman certainly appreciated the support from the crowd.

“I probably had the loudest crowd involvement there. Everybody was cheering with me, and it was an amazing feeling,” she said, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

Katrina was the only person remaining on her school’s cheer squad after her three other teammates quit. To make matters worse, the three other students quit just a week and a half before the competition, the Omaha World-Herald reports

Instead of giving up and throwing in the towel, Katrina decided to keep going. The senior said she wanted to perform in the competition, even if that meant doing it by herself, the outlet reports.

So, with little time left before the state competition, Katrina and her coach reworked the routine to make it work solo.

This video is a wonderful example of kindness and love, people supporting the efforts of one young woman who refused to quit when it would have been much easier to do so.

Colossians 3:12 “Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance.”
