Classic Performance Of “I Bowed on My Knees” From Voices Of Gaither
Take five minutes and savor this glorious classic performance of “I Bowed on My Knees” from Voices of Gaither. It will make your day better!
The video, recorded live from Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX, in 1996, features five primary voices from Voices of Gaither, along with dozens of gifted artists on stage. Countless others sing from their seats in the audience.
From the gentle and genuine eyes of the first vocalist to the passionate praise of the final two minutes. From the smiles on their faces to the tears running down the faces of some, this is a body of believers on fire for Jesus!
The father of Gaither Music, William James Gaither, now almost 87 years old, wears a blue suit and quietly directs the soloists to come forward. Bill and his wife, Gloria, have written hundreds of songs—they’d composed over 700 by 2012! Two of the most recognizable are “He Touched Me” and “Because He Lives.” Their ministry is expansive but not nearly as fabulous as the Home they sing about in this song!
“I Bowed on My Knees” tells the story of a person entering Heaven, greeted by angels, and given a tour of the mansions there. But, the new resident wants to see Jesus more than anything else. Full of joy, the song reminds us of the eternity that awaits believers.
Here is the verse of the song, originally copyrighted in 1923.
Then I bowed on my knees and cried,
"Holy, Holy, Holy."
I clapped my hands and sang, "Glory,
Glory to the Son of God."
At 2:55, Jonathan Pierce sings the line about meeting Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Mark, and Timothy. Can you imagine! Mr. Pierce has surely met Jesus and every single one of the Bible heroes; he died at the age of 49 following heart surgery. Like so many others on the stage in Fort Worth in 1996, he left an inspiring musical legacy!
“‘Don’t cling to me,’ Jesus said, ‘for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” John 20:17

A Prayer for the One Who Is Afraid of God’s Glory and Power - Your Daily Prayer - June 11
We should revere the Lord, as He is more magnificent than we can imagine. Yet, if we treat Him like a thunderstorm, rolling through in power to wreak havoc wherever and whenever He pleases, then we forget that He is a good God.
