Actor Playing Apostle On 'The Chosen' Shares Testimony Of Accepting Disability

Perhaps you have seen the Chosen series. It is a great and creative depiction of what it could have been like walking with Jesus in His days on earth. In this video clip, the actor playing an apostle on “The Chosen” shares his testimony of accepting his disability.

Jordan Walker Ross plays Little James in the tv show, The Chosen. He shares in this interview that the director asked him if Jesus could heal him, would he choose to be healed. The director inquired if Jordan could make his own disability as part of the story of the disciple that he was playing. Jordan tells of the vulnerability that took for him. He never shared his insecurities before.

He says that he was born prematurely and has cerebral palsy, scoliosis, and severe asthma. He had major surgeries growing up and then dealt with bullying at the lunch table. He shared about kids making fun of him and physically hurting him. He hid from them in between vending machines. He shares that he dealt with suicidal tendencies because of his battle.

Jordan expresses the great challenges. He shares that there have been people who he believes God has healed, but there are many whom the Lord has not healed here. Jordan shares plainly that it is not a matter of faith or of how obedient of a Christian you are to be healed on this earth. We see a dramatic scene where Little James asks Jesus why he has not healed him. We see the clip, and it hits home in a new kind of way knowing his real story.

Jordan shares that his insecurities are real, but he has come to an acceptance of not wanting to be healed because he has been entrusted with this limp to help encourage others and point them to Jesus.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14
