One man used his powerful voice to belt out an awe-inspiring cover of an iconic hymn.

Hymns are beloved pieces of music. Churches for decades have played these beautiful songs for their congregations. Their beautiful sound and truth-filled lyrics make these songs timeless works able to fit into nearly any type of service imaginable.

However, whenever hymns are performed, it’s usually by a church choir or by someone with a more country, gospel music background. But Dan Vasc does not sing either of those genres of music, which is what makes his version stand out. 

According to the About section on his YouTube channel, Dan is a heavy metal singer. In fact, Dan describes himself as the “#1 Amazon charting metal singer, composer, youtuber and business owner who likes to talk about himself in the third person.” 

Nevertheless, Dan performs a stunning rendition of arguably the most well-known and beloved hymn of all time, “Amazing Grace.” In a video posted to YouTube, Dan showcases his incredibly powerful and awesome voice.

Simply put, Dan’s rendition is show-stopping. His voice helps to remind listeners of the compelling message about God’s love and grace contained in the song’s lyrics. The lyrics are moving, touching and heartfelt. They never get old and stale no matter how many times you hear them.

“Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see”
