‘Dog Gone’ Netflix Movie Trailer
Having a deep, committed love for someone or something will cause you to continue when others would give up. 1 Corinthians 13:7 says love “believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things.” The next verse, 1 Corinthians 13:8, adds that “love never fails.” Those qualities of love are on display in the trailer for the new Netflix film, “Dog Gone.”
The film, based on a true story, is about a father and a son as they desperately search for their lost dog, Gonker, on the Appalachian Trail. Rob Lowe and Kimberly Williams-Paisley star in the film.
The trailer begins by showing Gonker’s oddities and peculiarities. We see the canine choose the stick he wants to play fetch with, eat a cupcake right out of someone’s hand and strike a yoga pose. The dog is described as not just “any dog” but “my best friend.”
It’s apparent from the opening moments of the trailer that Gonker’s family loves him unconditionally. But soon Gonker becomes lost, and the family races against the clock to find their beloved dog. Later in the trailer, we learn that Gonker only has two weeks because he’s without needed medication.
Rob’s character assures his son in the film, who is understandably worried about Gonker, that “we will find that dog.” Another character asks how he can promise that they will find Gonker, and he confidently answers, “because I believe it.”
Next, we see father and son hit the Appalachian Trail for their beloved pet. Soon enough, people all over the world are reaching out about the search for Gonker.
Near the end of the trailer, Rob’s character tells his son that “we will find that dog.” His character’s son, sounding defeated, asks “why won’t you stop saying that?” He, once again, reiterates his strong faith, saying, “because I believe it.”
The film lands on the popular streaming service on January 13.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you:”
