Veterinarian Comedian Has the Best Stories

Pet owners love their animals and want nothing but the best for them. Pet owners understand that means ensuring their animals receive a proper diet, exercise and adequate medical attention. However, some pet owners seeking to get their animal medical care can say and do some rather dumb things, as one veterinarian and stand-up comedian reports.

Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald hilariously retells some of the craziest things he has heard and encountered during his time as a veterinarian. The short, 4-and-a-half-minute clip begins with the good doctor retelling a question he received about a woman’s pet gerbil.

“A woman come in, she goes, ‘Doctor, do gerbils have individual fingerprints, like human beings?’” Kevin said. “Why? You missing some wood chips?”

The audience collectively roared in laughter.

Kevin then moved on to another question he received about how to properly care for a large animal dealing with internal discomfort.

“Another one said, ‘What do you give a Great Dane with diarrhea?’ “I said, ‘Plenty of room,'" Kevin stated

Once again, the entire room laughs at the hysterical question and answer exchange between the pet owner and the veterinarian.

All pet owners want to give their animals the best food possible. Knowing this, companies have begun placing odd adjectives on bags and cans to describe their pet food. The funny veterinarian touched upon this and how those words really do not accurately describe the animals that consume the food.

“And now we’re selling gourmet cat food. When did cats become gourmets?” he asked. “What kind of gourmet coughs up a hairball after he eats?”

Kevin also answers the big question: Are there any pets that veterinarians are afraid of/creeped out by? He hilariously relays the time someone brought in their pet spider and the ingenious way he responded to the situation.

Animals mean the world to their owners. As Kevin states in the clip, pet owners also provide plenty of comedic material!

Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
