Dancer With Down Syndrome Lives Out Dream On Britain's Got Talent Stage
One young man with a disability was allowed to live out his dream on Britain’s Got Talent and he did not disappoint.
Nathan is a sweet 24-year-old man with Down syndrome who loves to dance. Name a dance and Nathan loves it!
In a clip posted on YouTube, Nathan was taking part in dance class, dancing with his teacher Joanne, when he received a big surprise. Alesha, one of the judges from Britain's Got Talent, popped into the class.
Alesha informed Nathan that Joanne had nominated him to audition for the show. The young man is overwhelmed by the news. He's momentarily rendered speechless by the revelation.
Brimming with personality and confidence, Nathan and Joanne take the stage and inform the judges that they will be dancing the Cha-cha-cha.
Before Joanne and Nathan get started, Nathan had some instructions for the audience. He invited everyone to stand, clap and cheer throughout their performance.
Nathan and Joanne turn in a terrific performance. They both strut their stuff on the dance floor, showing everyone what they’ve got!
Nathan and Joanne’s performance has everyone in the room on their feet, clapping and cheering for them. Nathan is overwhelmed by the room’s reaction. He places his face in his hands and bends down toward the ground.
As the judges give their glowing reviews of Joanne and Nathan’s dance number, Nathan wipes tears from his eyes on several occasions.
“We do get good dancers who are very boring on this show,” Simon Cowell said. “But both of you have got such amazing personality. Even before you started, I think every single person in this theater was going, ‘Just be brilliant.’ And you were brilliant.”
But the judges weren’t done yet.
Everyone gave Nathan and Joanne yes votes. They are going into the next round of the competition!
Psalm 149:3 “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praise to him with tambourine and harp.”
