You’ll Never Think of Wake-Up Calls the Same After Nate Bargatze’s Take

You will never think of wake-up calls the same ever again after Nate Bargatze’s take. The popular comedian highlights the strange and absurd nature of wake-up calls, doing so with a wealth of humor and truth. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear what Nate has to say about setting up and requesting a wake-up call at a hotel.

No one enjoys getting up in the morning. I can think we can all agree that the absolute worst sound in the world is whatever noise your alarm clock makes to ensure you get up and out of bed. It doesn’t matter what the alarm is; hearing it one too many times in the morning when you’re waking up, and you’ll hate it forever.

Now, when people wake up, they simply set an alarm on their phone. However, before every member of society had a cell phone, and someone was staying in a hotel, there was something called a wake-up call. They are basically exactly as they sound. In a clip posted on YouTube, Nate explains how truly odd wake-up calls were and still are.

“When I first started going on the road, I would have to do a wake-up call,” he said. “That’s how I got up in the morning. I’d have to call a guy I don’t know, and just be like, ‘Will you wake me up tomorrow?’”

But as Nate continues, the idea of a wake-up call becomes even more odd.

“That’s the last person I would talk to, is him,” Nate said. “I would call my wife then a man I’ve never seen. ‘You promise you’re going to wake me up tomorrow?’ We would tell each other good night.”

No one enjoys setting the alarm on their phone for the next morning, but at least you do not have to request a wake-up call.

Proverbs 17:22 “A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.”
