Middle Aged Dad Jam Band Nails Fantastic Cover of ‘Jessie’s Girl’

The Middle Aged Dad Jam Band has nailed a fantastic cover of “Jessie’s Girl.” The group of musicians in the middle part of their lives has turned in an excellent rendition of this classic tune from the 1980s. Watch the short but terrific clip to listen to this outstanding cover performance of Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl.”

Who doesn’t enjoy listening to covers? Obviously, there are going to be some people who absolutely despise hearing musicians play the songs of other musicians. There always has to be someone who disagrees, who has to be negative, if for no other reason than just because they can.

Despite some people’s hatred of covers, it’s clear that those who do not appreciate covers are in the minority. How else do you explain the plethora of steady cover performances on shows like America’s Got Talent, American Idol and The Voice? Additionally, heavily visited social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook are full of people performing covers. YouTube also has pages and pages of nothing but individuals who have recorded themselves singing and playing covers.

In yet another cover on YouTube, the Middle Aged Dad Jam Band plays a tune that everyone knows and loves, “Jessie’s Girl.” It may be a hit from the 1980s, but the lyrics are known by everyone, with the song seemingly spanning generations.

“You know I wish that I had Jessie’s girl
I wish that I had Jessie’s girl
Where can I find a woman like that?”

No matter how you might feel about the original by Rick Springfield, it’s easy to admit that this cover is nothing short of fantastic. It sounds incredibly close to the original. Some might even go so far as to say it’s better than the original. I’m not saying I agree, but some might make the argument that this one tops the one from 1981.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
