Human beings are not perfect, not even a little bit. Every one of us has stumbled and fallen. We all have our failures, flaws, blemishes and imperfections. We’ve all sinned and come way short of the glory of God.
Thankfully, we serve a loving, merciful and forgiving God who offers forgiveness to all who seek Him and call upon His name. We can come to Him as we are – even in our sin and shame. He can take even those considered the worst of the worst and make them whole, a new creation in Christ. But we aren't perfect even after being forgiven and accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. We are still humans who are perfectly capable of stumbling and falling, but we can always turn back to Him.
That’s precisely what TobyMac sings about in “a Lil Church (nobody’s too lost).” He mentions how he has essentially come to the end of his road. He’s empty, lost in the wilderness and overwhelmed. The only one who can repair him and make him whole again, and for that matter, us as well, is Jesus Christ.
“So far from runnin’ over
So close to givin’ in
It’s gonna take the hands that made me
To make me whole again”
While the entire song is a beautiful tune about the love and redemption of Jesus Christ, one lyric perfectly captures that idea. “Nobody’s too lost to get found” accurately describes how we can never go anywhere where God cannot find us. There’s nothing that we could ever do that cannot be covered by the blood of Jesus.
Psalm 130:7 “Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.”
