Claire Leslie and Women Who Worship Soul-Stirring ‘Run to the Father’ Cover
Claire Leslie joins Women Who Worship in a soul-stirring performance of ‘Run to the Father,’ written by Cody Carnes, Matt Maher, and Ran Jackson. Cody Carnes recorded the song in 2018, and it was released in 2019. Here, the women offer their take on the musical outcry for Jesus’s spiritual support and sustenance, as well as his surgical precision in healing our hearts.
Dressed in gold, white, and creamy tones, the ladies sing on a low stage. Behind them are stained glass windows, and five purple-pink orbs illuminate the space. It’s hard to tell how deep the space is, but the audience of women all stand and worship along with the artists. There are nine in the group, including featured singer Claire Leslie. Five play stringed instruments, one drums, one is a keyboardist, and two are lead singers. They are a spirit-filled and talented bunch!
According to their instagram page, Women Who Worship is “a celebration of female artists, songwriters, producers, and worship leaders using music to spread hope to the world.” With nearly 400 videos and 20,000 followers, this group of Christian leaders are accomplishing their mission!
Claire Leslie is a rising artist in the Christian pop music community. The San Antonio, Texas native is only 23 years old, but she began leading worship when she was just 14. Like Cody Carnes, Claire is a songwriter, too. Here, though, her beautiful voice is on display. Claire told Baylor Lariat that she is currently working on an album to be released in the fall and doing lots of shows and collaborations throughout the summer.
The first verse of ‘Run to the Father’ demonstrates the supreme need we have for Heavenly Father’s intervention in our lives. Here is that first verse:
‘I’ve carried a burden
For too long on my own
I wasn’t created
To bear it alone’
From the first notes of the song to the final moments—Claire’s eyes closed and her face turned Heavenward—we see her devotion, and it’s the entirety of the performance that resonates with viewers. The words, the brilliantly performed music, angelic voices, and the way in which the women praise their Father!
Commenters sing praises for the performance with user @WorshipUnityMusic writing, “Run To The Father with Claire Leslie is pure and real. The vulnerability in her voice pulls you straight into the heart of the song. It’s a raw reminder that no matter what we’ve done or how far we’ve wandered, there’s always a place to run back to. In 2025, this track still cuts through the noise and calls us home.”
“Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—” Psalms 119:2
