One couple shared the hilarious story of their pet showing up to its own funeral. The couple and their children were in the middle of grieving the cat when they started to hear a strange noise. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear how this family’s elderly cat appeared at its funeral.

As ironic as it may be, death is a part of life, an inescapable and unavoidable fact. Time stops for no one. Our bodies are fragile and eventually break down over time. Death is something that everyone will experience at some point. Even before we experience death ourselves, it’s something that will, unfortunately, touch and impact our lives through the loss of friends and loved ones.

Sadly, animals also do not live forever and pass away eventually. Like losing a friend or a loved one, losing a pet is also often devastating, resulting in an immense amount of pain and grief. But what would happen if a pet you thought had passed away, one that you were in the process of mourning and grieving over, suddenly strolled through the room happy and healthy? That happened to one family who thought their beloved elderly cat had gone to the big farm in the sky.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a husband and wife recount the time when they couldn’t find their elderly cat after looking for hours. They assumed the worst. Surely, given the cat’s age, it had passed away, and that’s what they told their young children.

“We’re sitting at the table-full-blown funeral mode for this cat,” the woman said.

Then, they started to hear an odd but familiar noise.

“I hear something, and I’m, like, ‘Everyone stop talking. Stop crying, please, for a second,’” the man remembered saying. “And I just hear, ‘Meow.’ And I was, like, I literally, mind you, like, we thought our cat had passed, right? So, we’re all sitting there, like, ‘Is this the voice from above?’

He opened the door to the garage, which he had searched a handful of times, and the 
missing/dead cat sprinted into the room. As one of the couple’s children said, it was “a breakfast miracle!”
