Grandma and Her Beau Tear Up the Dance Floor to ‘Proud Mary’
A grandmother and her beau tore up the dance floor to “Proud Mary.” The elderly couple stole the show, displaying their surprisingly fancy and agile footwork. Watch the short but awe-inspiring clip to see the older pair strut their stuff on the dance floor for all to see.
Dance is an art form that can take years of intense, focused practice and study to master. Even then, someone may still only be an adequate dancer. Then there are people who have no formal training and have all the right moves when it comes to the dance floor. Also, some individuals clearly have no business being on a dance floor (me included). It’s almost painful to watch them even try.
Some people can dance, or they cannot. You either have the rhythm or none at all, and no one wants to see that kind of display. A clip posted on social media shows two people who surprisingly have more than enough rhythm and moves. The elderly couple shows they know what they are doing on the dance floor.
In the clip on TikTok, the grandmother, who is 89 years old (yes, you read that right), and her boyfriend showed the attendees at her granddaughter’s wedding how it’s done. Several can be heard cheering as the two steal the show while dancing to Tina Turner’s cover of “Proud Mary” (this version is far superior to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s original).
While the two in the video might be at an advanced age, their dance steps and fancy footwork still put many people to shame. They move about the dance floor better and more confidently than people half their age. I know, for sure, that they could literally dance circles around me. I’ll leave the dancing to them. I’m more than happy viewing from the safety and comfort of the sidelines.
Psalm 149:3 “Let them give praise to his name in the dance: let them make melody to him with instruments of brass and corded instruments of music.”
