This Husband’s Response After Drawer Decluttering Hits Close to Home

This husband’s response after a drawer decluttering hit close to home. What he did and said is hilarious, but also precisely how this situation always goes. Watch the short but hysterical clip to see this husband and wife act out an all-too-familiar scenario.

Nobody wants to be considered a hoarder or a pack rat. Holding onto items that could have and should have been thrown out long ago is a recipe for disaster, headaches and many heated arguments. Yes, we all hold onto things for sentimental value, but not everything has memories attached to it. For instance, there is no reason to keep a long, mangled and rarely used unidentifiable power cord, right?

These are the thoughts that go through everyone’s minds when they are cleaning out their house, looking to get rid of clutter: “Why do I need this thing that I haven’t used in five years?”  So, of course, you take whatever object that is and pitch it, sending it to the trash where it most certainly belongs. But then something always inevitably happens right after you throw that object away. A clip posted on YouTube perfectly and hilariously captures this scene, which every husband and wife knows all too well.

The clip begins with the wife holding a trash can in one hand as she goes through a drawer, picking up and then throwing away items with the other. One of the things she picks up is a long black cord. She has no idea what it’s for, so logically, she decides to pitch it.

But then, as always in these situations, her husband enters the room the next day and makes a hilarious comment.

“Hey, babe, have you seen that black cord?” he asks. “I know I haven’t used it in like 10 years, but suddenly today, I need it to charge a camera.”

She tries to play dumb, quickly realizing what she has done.

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
