Greg Warren’s Hysterical Takedown of Hotel Email Follow-Ups

Greg Warren gave a hysterical takedown of hotel email follow-ups. The popular funnyman is not a fan of them, to say the least. Watch the short but hilarious clip to hear what he said about them and why he is so opposed to those customer surveys.

Keeping customers happy and satisfied is a big component and a need for nearly every business. If those customers are unhappy with a company for any reason, they will likely go elsewhere next time, which is not good for any business. Not only will the business lose that customer, but how many other people will that person tell about their less-than-satisfactory experience?

It's for that reason that so many businesses follow up by text, phone or email to gauge customers’ experience on their latest visit. Businesses want to know where and how they fell short and how they can improve. This seems like a no-brainer when it comes to running a business. Keep customers happy while aiming to secure repeat business.

Well, it appears that not everyone is a fan of businesses following up. In a clip posted on social media, Greg mentioned that he absolutely despises follow-up email surveys from hotels. What he said about them, and why he doesn’t like them, will have you cracking up and likely reconsidering them the next time you receive one.

“And these survey questions, they’re very pointed,” he said. “It’s not, ‘How did you like the Holiday Inn?’ It’s ‘When you checked in, were you greeted by the front desk? ‘Did they offer you…’ Just ask me what you want to ask me. ‘Should we fire Carol?’ I see what’s going on here. You guys don’t have any managers on staff, so you want me to be a tattletale. You want me to tell on Carol.”

Later in the clip, he mentioned that those surveys do not respect your time and that they keep getting longer and longer, eating up more of it as they go. Soon enough, he says the survey will move to the essay portion, asking you to write a novel about your time at their hotel.

Job 8:21 “The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.”
