How to Lean on and Trust God When Life Feels Uncertain and Out of Control
One woman discusses how we can lean on and trust God when life feels uncertain and out of control. Her message and words are powerful, and she shares some unique insights. Watch the short but moving clip about relying on God when the path forward is unclear and murky.
Everyone wants control in life and the knowledge of what the future holds. However, that is rarely, if ever, the case. That universal need and desire for control over our lives must be because control is comforting. If we have that control, we know what is coming and won’t be caught off guard. Also, we can prevent painful situations and circumstances if we have that power, or that must be the thinking, anyway.
But so much of life is uncertain and unclear. Situations arise that are completely and entirely out of our control. That is scary and frightening, for sure. However, we serve a God who is bigger and greater than anything we will face. He can provide us with peace beyond all understanding, even amid those turbulent and unpredictable circumstances.
In a clip posted on YouTube, one woman shares how we can learn to lean on and trust God during these particularly chaotic, tumultuous periods in life. She starts by pointing out God’s history. He has never let us down before, remaining always faithful in previous times when things were unclear and the future was muddled.
“Everything good in my life has not come the way I tried to plan it,” she said. “I’m serious – my job, my husband, the people closest to me – all of it either came in a different way or on a different timeline than what I originally planned. And now I can look back and celebrate how God was working in the moments of my life that felt like total chaos.”
She adds that we must continually surrender to God and His plans and understand that we do not have control. It’s a matter of learning and understanding that we have very little control over situations and circumstances, which is scary to most people.
She also points to Proverbs 16:9, which mentions that while we might have plans, God is ultimately in control.
Proverbs 16:9 “A man may make designs for his way, but the Lord is the guide of his steps.”
